Greenwich House has won a Bronze award for all of its environmental efforts! Huge thanks to the Greenwich House Green Impact team, made up of representatives from across the building.
The team includes: Diane Ingham, Ben Mayo, Susie Chan, Emily Dunning, Taylor Allison, Barbara Nash, Steve Hutson, Andy Harnwell, Sarah Jones, Linda Hinton-Mead, Gráinne Kennedy
Most teams started work for their award last October, but here it was February that it all kicked off, so even more impressive! Within the space of two months the following have been put in place:
- A Green Impact committee (made up of the team above),
- Ensuring there is an induction on sustainability for all new starters,
- Regular updates to all staff,
- A Green Impact notice board and suggestion box in reception,
- Labelling of bins, lights, printers etc
- Providing tap water rather than bottled water wherever possible in meetings
- Promotion of sustainable travel
- Establishment of battery recycling box (in reception on Green Impact table)
- Ensuring visitors have access to resusable mugs
The team are now discussing how to 'Go For Gold'!
